Welcome to PBnJ,

PB”n”J (Plant based nutrition journey) of Corpus Christi is dedicated to bringing awareness of the protective and restorative effects of eating plant based whole foods.
Our objective is to provide educational resources and support to members of our group who choose to take charge of their health through a plant base life style.
A cornerstone of the PBnJ is inclusiveness. People from all walks of life and at different stages in their wellness or plant-based journey have an open invitation to participate in the Pod Network at any time. Our goal is to support and empower our community members interested in following WFPB lifestyle, by sharing nutrition information, offering support, and leading project and policy initiatives.
The purpose of this grassroots movement is to shift away from the Standard American Diet (SAD) and towards a WFPB dietary lifestyle. Join our WFPB community and reclaim your health, one healthy meal at a time.
Everyone is Welcome!
The Journey
PBnJ (Plant Based Nutrition Journey) of Corpus Christi started as a private facebook group and is an independent member of the Plant Pure Community.

PBnJ was launched by Joann Kline in April 2020. She was inspired while participating in a 10 day jump start for health, sponsored by Plant Pure Communities.
Joann recently retired after serving the Coastal bend as a health care provider for the past 25 years. Having seen first hand, the effects of chronic medical conditions on the quality of life and mobility of her patients, she was determined to channel her efforts to promote healing through nutrition.
Eager to learn more about WFPB lifestyle, Joann began searching for clear nutritional guidelines that were evidence-based. The writings of T.Colin Campbell and his colleagues, as well as Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, MD. provided convincing support for whole-food, plant-based nutrition.
Motivated to control her own health. Joann changed from SAD (“Standard American Diet”) to WFPB (“Whole Food Plant Based”) lifestyle. Within a short period of time, both her Cholesterol and LDL levels decreased by 25% . The frequent bloating, fatigue and post meal hangovers she experienced also resolved. Joann holds a certification in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell, a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Biology, and a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Temple University. Joann’s goal for PBnJ is to share her passion for a whole food, plant-based lifestyle with her community.
